LA’s Cheap Eats

Los Angeles is the city where you can meet celebrities on the streets and in restaurants, and you would think that there is no way to eat at affordable prices and get good quality food as well.

However, this city is actually great if you’re looking for cheap eats, as there are many varieties, from comfort to healthy foods, affordable and amazing at the same time. In LA, you don’t have to compromise between quality and cheap meals – you can have both at the same time.

Here are some of LA’s cheap eats for you to enjoy!

1. Belcampo Meat Co.

This butcher shop commonly sells expensive dishes and sandwiches, and although they are all amazing, they can’t really measure up to one of their least expensive dishes that only costs $5.

This fast burger is prepared with an amazing and finger-licking good beef patty and melted cheese on top of it, along with some onion rings – keeping it simple. The soft bun itself is enough to make you feel like you’re in heaven, but with these fantastic ingredients you will actually feel each and every one of your taste buds thanking you for your good choice.

One of these burgers should be enough to satisfy your hunger, but if you have a big appetite you will be able to afford the second one, as this burger is fairly inexpensive.

2. Sack

This is a small restaurant on Melrose Avenue, where you can eat a great meal from $3 to $7. There is nothing on the menu that is more expensive than $10.

These affordable sandwiches are great for satisfying your appetite as well as your taste buds while you’re refueling. There is a great variety of sandwiches, from fish, chicken, ham, turkey, pork and beef, to wonderful veggie sandwiches prepared with care for those who would like a lighter meal.

One of the best sandwiches here costs only $5 and is made of cold fried chicken, ranch cheese, Gindo’s spice of life, lettuce and pickles. Yummy!

3. Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery

Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery offers a sandwich for which everyone who have ever tried it would claim with persuasion that it is the best sandwich you can buy in Los Angeles.

Made of Genoa salami, prosciutto, mortadella, capocollo, ham and provolone cheese all placed inside crusty Italian bread, this sandwich is something every meat lover dreams about. This is only the basis, and then you can choose what you will add, and you have a wide selection of fresh vegetables as well as mayonnaise, mustard and homemade Italian dressing to choose from.

And this not-so-little piece of heaven costs $5.75–$8.00, depending on the size and the works.

4. Guerrilla Tacos

Guerilla Tacos makes street food more enjoyable than ever. They make tacos with ingredients that will make your head spin, including pancetta, oxtail, boar and fried eggs.

Being only a street cart, you probably wouldn’t expect much from Guerrilla Tacos, but the fact is that everything you get here will be of best quality. You can eat amazing tacos and burritos, as well as several other food varieties for as little as $3 or $4.

Many people would argue that the best tacos in LA are those sold at this small food cart.

5. Kaya Street Kitchen

This street kitchen on Fairfax Avenue offers a great casual ambient where you can come and have one of the cheapest and tastiest meals in LA.

Everything you choose here will cost no more than $10, and for an affordable price you will get a great dish with ingredients creatively combined to achieve a perfect balance of flavors. If you decide to visit this kitchen, try the grilled chicken satay along with some sauce or other additions.

No matter which salad or sauce you pick, the meal will be great and cheap, we promise you that.
